Tabir is gone. Most of her people were destroyed and those who are left are trying to make a new life for themselves among the refugees they once tormented. As Winton continues to heal, physically and emotionally, the refugees press into the mysterious labyrinth of the ancient dwarven keep they have made their home. More people, Ana included, begin to feel a foreboding presence of phantom darkness approaching. Analeah must find a way to lead this eclectic group of people to do more than coexist if they want a chance to survive.
This story is the first short story to fill the gaps between The 10th Son and Bindings of the Beast.
